There were very few people that Nic actually one hundred percent liked to model clothes for, and Bruna was certainly one of them. He really enjoyed her sense of style, and didn’t expect him to be super chatty or anything along those lines so he was left to his own devices and didn’t need to bust out his model smile or anything like that--just the smoldering look that he sported which was more than easy enough for him. Nic had walked in a number of her shows, and absolutely adored trying on any of her latest works, often the first to volunteer whenever she needed a model of any kind because he vibed well with her work ethic. He easily walked into her studio, not even the slightest hesitation as he walked (he’d heard she was intimidating, though Nic wasn’t really effected by it), shutting off his music and pulling his ear buds out of his ears upon seeing her working. ”Sorry, public transport is a nightmare today,” he explained, tucking his phone and ear buds into his coat pocket before removing it, ”Hope you haven’t been waiting around too long.”

In truth, he was maybe two minutes late, but there was just so much of the fashion and modeling industry that required ultimate punctuality that he felt obligated to apologize for it. Once his coat was discarded onto a nearby chair, Nic walked over to where she was working, eyeing the pieces with a scrutiny which would gauge if he would actually enjoy wearing them. ”You’ve really outdone yourself this time, this is fantastic.” As a model, his job was to wear whatever was thrown at him, and frankly that didn’t always mean it was enjoyable. ”Are these for a shoot or a show?”

When there was downtime in between modeling jobs, Nic spent a great deal of time not only working on igniting his acting career, but also having a couple cheat days so that he would be kept sane. However, old habits die hard, and he found himself standing and staring at the menu of Doesnt-Costa-Latte, trying to decide whether or not he was going to splurge and get something new (as he usually drank just plain black coffee). It was a little crowded, but that was nothing compared to the most crazy and busy of times, but Nic still felt he was incredibly in the way and refrained from making eye contact with anyone, partially to seem less awkward, but mainly so he wasn’t recognized for who he was. The line had dwindled down to nonexistent, and Nic was still pondering his options and tentatively approached the front counter, ”Uh, sorry I’m taking so long,” he mumbled quietly, shrugging his shoulders a bit.

”I’m between jobs so I kind of...have too much freedom to make a decision for anything,” Nic admitted, before settling, ”Uh, might as well just have a black coffee, plain, unless you have other suggestions?” Truthfully he didn’t really know what else to get, especially since Nic Woods was definitely not someone who was incredibly adventurous. Part of the downfalls of relying on your appearance for work meant that he couldn’t just eat or drink whatever he wanted, so when he had the chance of freedom, he was flummoxed. For being so patient, however, she shoved a rather large note into the tip jar, ”I’m Nic, by the way.” The introduction felt necessary, especially since she may need his name to write on the cup or whatever. He was trying to be accommodating, at least in his own way. Who let him leave the house ever?

Nic definitely couldn’t have pictured being relocated to London in his future when he was far younger, however now that he was here, he was eager to network and expand his horizons. Maybe this was what he needed in order to catch a break? Either way, it led him to doing a number of runways and photoshoots worldwide. If he had the chance to, he’d do work opportunities at home, including this high-end raincoat spread for some magazine that Nic wasn’t paying that much attention to. As such, he was there to do a job, which was to look phenomenal and brooding, being promised the centerpiece of the entire spread (which he expected regardless) and shifted from pose to pose with such ease it was as if he was made for this (maybe he was).

Nic was finally getting a break as they reviewed some of the shots they took and decided what they needed from the models there. ”It seems so stupid that we have to stage rain indoors when there is plenty outside,” Nic retorted, rolling his eyes as he approached one of the other models that were there for the spread. ”Nic,” he introduced, ”I don’t think I’ve seen you around much.” Of course, he’d seen so many people there was a chance they’d met several times before, ”I’m surprised they let you take off your outfit, what if they need to reshoot something with you in it?” Like they’d have to reshoot something with Nic unless it was one of the group shots--people could blink at the worst of times, and he was already annoyed dealing with the fake rainy mist they had blowing around their studio area with some faux green screen background. For all Nic knew, this background was going to be space or something more ridiculous like Oklahoma. His gaze shifted from his fellow model to the catering table beside him, and he scrunched up his nose in distaste. Clearly they weren’t fully aware of what models eat, especially when there is work involved.

Nic Woods is from LA, California, and has big Hollywood dreams. However, as that hasn’t quite worked out for him yet, he got scouted working at in-n-out and became a model and reached an astounding amount of success, but that doesn’t change the fact that he hopes to break out into the film industry soon enough. He’s a pretty quiet and can be a good listener, or at least appear to be a good listener if he is zoned out and going over his own agenda. Otherwise he’s pretty nice, and can be found networking frequently.

friends: nic is a friendly person, though he comes off as incredibly quiet. He opens up and becomes a lot more lively towards his friends, and can be found out partying and networking at premieres when he isn’t off doing his modeling thing. He is someone who is severely loyal to his close friends, and otherwise maintains a lot of other people in his life strictly for appearances. Sorry not sorry.

enemies: as far as this goes, some people may not be thrilled with how superficial he is, or think he’s a bit disconnected to reality, but he doesn’t mind. He finds his lack of success thus far in the film industry to be very frustrating, and so he may be prone to using his connections to get ahead of things if and when he can without so much as a thank you.

lovers: he hooks up with people, and likes to make appearances with people if only to help his networking. The good news is he is very honest about the fact that it’s hard for him to get serious about relationships or anything right now, and if you did manage to get him in a relationship, he would be the most loyal and open to you ever, and will ensure to treat you like the royalty you deserve to be treated at. His final is open~

Hollywood was said to be the place to make your dreams come true, at least to outsiders, especially all of the young people. It was the place to go if you wanted to make it into television and movies, or at least that was what the rumors said. Truthfully, if you grew up around Los Angeles, well, you knew that the bricks were only painted gold rather than made with them.

Nicholas Woods grew up in and around Santa Monica, and like most stereotypical young people he wanted to go into acting, specifically television and movie acting--acting for film. He studied filmography in school, took a number of acting and improvisation classes, and tried his hand at open auditions. However, it became very apparent that there was more necessary to make it than just showing up to an audition and having talent, and those additional necessities required money. Money that he wasn’t comfortable asking his parents for, after all, it was him trying to make it on his own.

He had to get a job, that much was obvious. Nic hated working in retail, he didn’t have the patience or motivation for a desk job, and that didn’t leave a lot of options for entry-level in the greater Los Angeles area. His only feasible option wasn’t really enjoyable, either, but working in food service had the added perk of discounted food and having enough free time outside of work to do whatever he wanted. It was mindless, and honestly working at In-N-Out Burger was something that started out as a joke, but it had been months now. Nic enjoyed the cash flow (especially since he didn’t need to pay rent or for food really), and the people he worked with were cool enough (though they always told him he was too damn quiet), and it was a job. It was better than absolutely nothing.

Nic had acquired headshots, filled out his acting resume and got it tweaked by a professor at UCLA whom he had taken on as a mentor, bought some nice highlighters, and was spending much of his free time at auditions without much success. He’d been an extra in quite a few things, which was something, but it was completely frustrating with how competitive the business was. He felt like he wasn’t getting anywhere, despite everyone praising him and telling him how talented he was. Apparently there was just something wrong with him, and no one could give him specifics.

He started to add vocal lessons and dance classes on top of the acting and improv classes, constantly working harder and harder whilst trying to catch a break. It’s been a couple years since he had started working at In-N-Out, the number of auditions he’d attended were far too many to count. He’d worked on every detail from his posture to his handshake, and yet there was still something that didn’t get him casted in anything beyond an extra, or maybe such a minor character that there was one line that ended up being cut before it was filmed. Frustration became a constant for him, to the point where he was even more quiet and brooding at work, especially when it was slow.

Nicholas Woods did catch a break eventually, but it was not in a way he had expected, and was even more reluctant to pursue it. He had been scouted by someone looking for models for a runway show during a particularly rough and busy night at work, and when the scout finally got to the front of the line, Nic was prepared for her to order all her food animal style, fries well done, no pickles, extra tomato. However, it was then he was thrust into the modeling world...somewhat willingly. It paid better than In-N-Out, he got to see more of the world, he lives in London now (as he became highly successful as a model), but now...now he was looking into going to more auditions...acting auditions, because after all, that is the end goal.
